Essence Vintage District (TE) Collection Review + 'Hearts & Shards' Nail Art Tutorial

Press Samples

I'm back with exciting stuff to share with you guys! I have tons of swatches and reviews coming up (because I think I need to continue blogging instead of letting it rot somewhere in the interwebs) so today, I have Essence's "Vintage District" Trend Edition collection (just the polish stuff) in the hood!

The colors are definitely very vintage-y. At the far left, we have 04 "Get Arty" which is a grey with purple flexes (is there such a word?) When I first saw it I was like OMG this is totally an infusion of Model's Own "Indian Ocean" into a grey polish! Next up is 01 "Vintage Peach" which is a very flattering peachy orange shade, ideal for those who doesn't really like bright in your face orange colors ;) We also have 03 "Antique Pink", a dusty rose mauve shade which I think is the most vintage-y color of them all and last but not least, we have 02 "Shopping @ Portobello Road" and it's a dark dusty blue shade with hints of teal. These 4 shades are supposed to be the "perfect base[s] for the deco elements of the  nail art decoration kit", according to the press release ;)

And here are the wonderful and colorful nail art decoration kits which are called 01 Something G-old and 02 Designer For A Day! Each 'ziplog' lookalike mini bags contains 5 different kinds of glitters and little fun stuff. It was honestly really fun to use! They also come with instructions at the back of each bag (well there are only 2 sets of instructions - one for the flakes and one for stones). Despite all the cuteness, I'm not really digging the packaging because it's such a chore (for me at least. I look for effectiveness, don't judge!) for me to open each plastic and pour them out. Nonetheless, great job Essence for providing such fun glitters instead of the usual nail art stickers that we see popping out everywhere *thumbs up*.

Okay, so, if you are interested, I HAVE NAIL ART TUTORIALS FOR YOU GUYS AND I'M USING THESE POLISHES AND NAIL ART DECORATIONS ISN'T THIS FUN! Click on to read (or rather, feast your eyes on pictorials!)

#1: Hearts & Shards - a pink and grey combination with tons of silver holographic glitters and an accent heart. I love the color combination of pinks and greys. There's something very ethereal about it (and very very vintagey, I mean, just look at it!). Learn how to achieve this manicure in just 6 simple steps! :)

What you'll require:

Overall, I like this collection. I think it's an awesome collection for people who just wanna have fun with their nails and glam things up. The formula for all the polishes are tremendously good (as with all Essence's polishes) and the color pay off is truly what you see in the bottles. My favourite out of this whole collection is 04 "Get Arty" I think it's such an interesting grey color (I don't own a lot of greys you see). Super work appropriate and staring-at-it-under-the-bright-crazy-sun-appropriate ;)

I hope you find this loooonnnngggg post meaningful (hahaha Annabel, how much meaning can you derive from a post full of glitters and pictorials?) A LOT (I think). I hope they were inspiring enough to make you run to your nail art corner and you'll start glitzy-fying your nails. Okay on to the where-to-get-it and what nots!

All polishes are retailing at SGD3.90 each. and the nail art decoration kits are priced at SGD4.90 each.
Essence's "Vintage District" collection is available at selected Watsons stores now until the end of October 2013. I think they also have a gel top coat and some cosmetics in the collection too so be sure to check it out. For more information on this brand, head to their Facebook. :)

That's all for now my dear lovely and kind and sweet and gentle and loyal friends.
I'll be back really soon (maybe tomorrow haha!). Have a lovely day/night ahead!
